Reiki is a Japanese word meaning Universal Life Energy and it is the vital life energy which flows through all living things. It can be activated for the purpose of human healing, it acts holistically affecting the energies which comprise the human body. Our ability to absorb this life energy is not constant, and over time our body can become depleted. When this happens we become weaker and more susceptible to illness, and the ageing process. It works wherever it is needed most, releasing blocked energies, cleansing the body of toxins, and creating a state of balance.

Reiki is a natural healing energy activated by intention and works on every level not just the physical. The practise of Reiki is an original method of healing developed by Dr Mikao Usui in Japan in the early 20th century. The Japanese word Reiki means ‘Universal Energy’ and it is the vital life energy which flows through all living things. Eastern medicine has always recognised and worked with this energy which flows through all living things and is vital to well-being known as ‘Ki’ in Japan, ‘Chi’ in China and ‘Prana’ in India. This is similar to the chi energy used in Tai Chi and Feng Shui.

Reiki will compliment and increase the effectiveness of your body’s own healing process. It is completely safe and natural and when used in healing, it acts holistically affecting the energies which comprise the human body. In a treatment session you will generally experience a pleasant sensation of warmth as the energy comes in to balance, and stress and tension are released and there is a deep sense of relaxation and a feeling of well-being. You lie on a massage bed and you remain fully clothed throughout, but may be asked to remove your coat and shoes. The whole body is treated and each hand position is held for several minutes and no pressure is applied. I have daytime and evening appointments available for your convenience.

On the second level you will receive 2 further attunements and are introduced to the Reiki symbols (mental, emotional and distance healing) and by using the distance symbol you can then send Reiki to others. On the second level both self-treatments and healing treatments on others are more powerful.
Level 2 is the level of Reiki which is needed in order to practise Reiki healing professionally as a therapist.

The Reiki Master course is for students who would like to practise Reiki at a more advanced level or want to attune and teach Reiki. On the third level you are taught the Reiki Master symbol, what it means, given a third empowerment and are taught to attune others.
